why would SK send the code FA, (which means Fire Alarm), when in fact it could be any zone related to a fire system?

Question:
An issue came up today w.r.t. this panel. An installing company faxed me a zoning request. In it he states that the 4 zones on the panel send FA1 through FA4. He wanted me to make FA1 a Fire Panel Trouble. I told him to program the panel so it sends FT1 instead. He tells me the panel can't be changed. So the question is IF THE PANEL CANT BE PROGRAMMED, why would SK send the code FA, (which means Fire Alarm), when in fact it could be any zone related to a fire system? If this is true, what does FA really mean or does it mean anything at all? The panel looks like it sends some truncated version of SIA. My familiarity with SK is obviously lacking so I look to the 'experts' in the .ng to give me an insight into what's going on here.

Answer: Sure it can be changed, All you have to do is change the zone for sprinkler supervisory option to "Yes". You will then get your FT1 as requested. If an external bell circuit is used, it will not sound at all, because it has been changed to a supervisory zone instead of a alarm zone. This can be done to all 4 zones.
