Question: What a magnificent film. Mesmerising from the thumping opening. As for 'that scene' only a ing idiot (or a fool that hadn't bothered to watch it) would want that cut. There's far worse in the film (fire extinguisher scene) if nimby censors are looking to remove something. In all it's a film about love between a couple. I don't think censors like that really unless it's wrapped up in Hollywood or Disney and the genitalia are pixellated. It would be a crime to remove a frame from the film. Cassel was excellent here -which is the 2nd time I've liked him (the other being La Haine). 2 great films now from Noé.
Answer: Watched it last week and it was sold last weekend. You're right about 'that scene', there's far worse (graphically) out there. However I think it's the uninterrupted static camera angle and the length of the scene that makes it so uncomfortable. For shock value though the fire extinguisher scene beats it hands down. As for my take on the film, it did absolutely nothing for me apart from leaving me cold. Best film I've seen this year is Hable Con Ella.
