Question:
Fire extinguisher testingThe recent BSC notes via BW says you have to have a certificate OK'ing all extinguishers. Anyone know where one get them tested in the West mids or staffs - do the fire service do it? I have three 2 kg powder and one halon gas and they all have meters on them and are in the green - OK area by a mile.

Answer: I got mine done by Brookside Fire Services, who are based in Birmingham somewhere (but who have an office in Carrington as well). Not got the address handy, sorry, the bit of paper's on the boat. AFAIR I think you only have to have a certificate if the extinguishers have an explicit expiry date on them, and that date has passed - the BSC leaflets are on the boat as well.
