Anybody here know anything about interfacing Ademco Alarm system to X10?

Question:
Anybody here know anything about interfacing Ademco Alarm system to X10? If I add the relay board and wire it to Powerflash modules, can I hook those relays to any event in the system that I want? How does the software in the alarm system work? Ideally, I'd like to get "User 1 disarmed, User 2 disarmed, and Alarm Condition went off" into my Homeseer system.

Answer: Which Ademco panel are you using?

According to the Ademco Installation Manual for the Vista20 what you are doing is output device programming. If you want to do X-10 the easy way you need to replace the power supply of your Ademco panel with model 4300, you will also need a 6139 Keypad or the compass downloader software to program the *80 menu options.

You have 8 PLC/Relay devices you may program. Output devices are programmed to send certain codes based on actions as follows:

Example: A lamp is to be turned on if any of 3 specific zones is faulted or the 24 hour aux zone is faulted, while turning off lamp manually without affecting alarm status.

*80 Output Device 01 Action 02 Start Event 02 Zone List 01 Zone Type 08 Partition Number 00 No stop codes are programmed, when prompted enter 1 for X-10 Device.

You may now use *81 to program the Zone lists ( only 4 Zone lists may be created, but may contain any or all zones).

Don't forget housecode must be programmed in *27, by default it's set to A

For a complete description of Zone Types or System Operations see the Ademco Installation manual of Programming forms
